Consumer Surveys
Sun, May 30 2010
I’m curious if anyone participates in consumer surveys. After heading to the mall and making purchases at 3 different stores (JC Penney, Bed Bath & Beyond and GameStop), I was handed a receipt with some sort of URL and code to participate in an online survey. I know this is par for the course with many other stores or restaurants, too (Taco Bell/KFC advertise the hell out of their consumer survey).
So I figured I’d participate in the surveys to try to win something ($500 from GameStop, a $10 coupon from BB&W and a 15% off coupon from JC Penney). It’s interesting how available these surveys are. As a consumer, I can complain about service (which I did; JCP’s fitting rooms were awful) but I also stand to benefit monetarily. Yet, I rarely do this.
Am I alone? Do you, as a consumer ignore these opportunities? Are you too busy? Is it too much work for too little pay out? Do you simply forget and toss your receipt?
