This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Victorinox Swiss Army. All opinions are 100% mine.
Father’s Day is one day that always passes without remark for me, probably because I’ve never met my father. It was the same this year. Still, I enjoy watching others enjoy this day with their fathers. ThinkGeek held a great contest in which people who nominate their geek dads for an award and I teared up at nearly all the entries. A lot of the entertaining blogs I read (Cake Wrecks, STFU Parents) has some amusing social commentary to make as well. I just read an article in the LA times by the guy who runs Shit My Dad Says, a hilarious Twitter feed that has now become a best selling book. In his article, he reminisces about how his father is very particular about gifts. “If it’s not booze or sweatpants, it’s going in the garbage,” the author quotes his father. Pretty amusing.
Some day, I may even be a mother myself and I might find myself giving my partner a gift from our child who cannot-yet-read let along go shopping. At least then, I can blame the kid if his or her father doesn’t enjoy the gift. d=
If I weren’t getting divorced, I might even consider getting Ryan a present for father’s day. The guys who make Swiss Army Knives also make some pretty impressive watches, if I do say so myself, and Ryan has been in need of a decent watch. His broke a while back and while I thought he got a replacement, he no longer wears one so I may be wrong. With Victorinox Swiss Army watches, you get a 3 year limited warrant, so he wouldn’t need to worry about his breaking.
I especially like the Summit XLT Chrono in black and blue; although, that may be my preference more than it is his. Still, it looks pretty awesome! I believe it’s even the watch featured on the Facebook IWAW sweepstakes page in the top left.
Even if you’re not really a watch person, it’s hard to deny that Victorinox Swiss Army watches are pretty impressive. I think something about the analog display is more sophisticated than newer watches, too. There’s even a few more feminine designs for the ladies out there. They’re not my style, but the pink mother of pearl faces would make a great present for Mother’s Day, I bet. While you’re over there, you might enter into the giveaway, too!
