Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotions

Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotions

Not too long ago, the folks over as Skin MD contacted me, wondering if I’d be interested in reviewing their shielding lotion. I said, sure, because why not? It wasn’t long before I was opening a package that was full to the bring of sample packets. I mean, I have a couple dozen probably. LOL

According to the official website, the shielding lotion works differently than other lotions and moisturizers because it bonds to the skin to create a barrier to keep out irritants. The longer protecting that skin shielding lotion provides is supposed to allow your skin to keep its own moisturizers to remain balanced and healthy. The website goes on to explain that this shielding lotion can protect when you use it when doing dishes, painting or gardening. The barrier protects against all sorts of chemicals and irritants to further help your skin. Fans of natural and vegan products will find that Skin MD’s Natural Shielding Lotions contains no artificial products, was not tested on animals and was even manufactured rights here in the US, with 100% solar power. Sounds pretty good!

Unlike some lotions, you don’t need to use a whole lot of the Shielding Lotion. Every sample packet contains 3-5 applications and the regular shielding lotion specifically states not to use the whole packet. I’m not sure what will happen if one over-moisturizes but it’s good to keep that in mind. The lotion itself is pretty thin and, as I applied it, it really did feel like it was bonding with my skin. It didn’t just slather over my skin or sink into my skin–it became one with my skin.

Skin MD natural shielding lotion makes me skin feel immediately softer and is not greasy at all. However, my hands feel slightly slipperier after applying the product. I also noticed that things feel better to the touch. My cats feel softer. It’s kind of a neat side effect.

Some of the samples I received were of the Shielding Lotion plus Sunscreen which is great. A product that is gentle enough to use on the face and also contains sunscreen is definitely a plus in my book. The sunscreen offers SPF 15+ and directions say to apply generously and reapply after swimming or perspiring, obviously. I haven’t yet had a chance to use much of the product because I’ve a history of burning in April. I already have a tan/residual burn so once I use up the last of my facial moisturizer, I’m going to give the Skin MD a shot.

One use that I thought of for the shielding lotion was as a barrier after shaving. My inner thighs get quite sensitive after shaving and irritation from sweating or shaving almost always occurs. I decided to use the regular shielding lotion as an aftershave product and it performed pretty well, at least as well as other products I’ve tried. My thighs didn’t become irritated or sore, even after a couple long walks.

Although I have no complaints about Skin MD Natural shielding lotion, I do have to say that I don’t have any serious skin dryness or skin conditions that the product helped to resolve. Nevertheless, images on the official website, as well as their Facebook, indicate that Skin MD lotions can be a great help when it comes to alleviating conditions like rosacea and problematic or sensitive skin. If you haven’t had the best of luck when it comes to solving skin issues, I’d definitely recommend checking out Skin MD Natural shielding lotion.

Thanks to Skin MD for this opportunity!
