Clean Up, Everybody Everywhere

Date Mon, June 25 2012

I just finished shampooing my mothers carpet–you’re welcome!–and I can’t help but think how glad I am that it uses a foam system that quickly dries. One of the things that disgusts me like none other is the idea of too much water, whether from a broken pipe or a flood or what-have-you. You can bet that I’d be on the phone to the nearest water damage restoration professional, no matter how late at night. That’s just how I roll. I hate waiting about these things, and I know that the longer you wait, the worse the damage becomes anyway.

This is especially true with water damage, which can ultimately lead to mold or rotting of wooden floors, beams and walls. It’s so much cheaper to get things taken care of sooner rather than later, so you don’t find yourself dealing with structural damage in your home or place of business. I know that I’m not the type of person who knows enough about cleaning up water to do it properly myself. That’s a job that I’ll leave to the pros, even if Pinterest makes me feel like I can do it myself all the time (hint: I can’t, not really).

Have you ever had to deal with water damage? How did you fix it?
