How Do You Celebrate Valentine’s Day?

Date Fri, January 25 2013

I won’t have a valentine this year, which is okay. I have my friends and family and cats, and they make me feel loved. There’s no question that doing something special with your significant other can certainly feel awesome on February 14. There’s dinner, a movie, a night out — possibly away from the kids. There’s also so much to be done inside the house. Perhaps you can sit in front of the fireplace — if you have one — sipping wine. Maybe you like to cook a meal together. If you’ve got a large bathtub or sauna, sitting in it together can feel both relaxing and intimate.

I think, for most people, the perfect culmination is either falling asleep in a relaxed more or, you guessed it, having sex. Perhaps that’s why so many people are foregoing buying flowers for buying lingerie like this kimono set or this garter slip and thong, if you want something a little more “risque.” Whatever your style, dressing up certainly helps to set the mood.

Of course, you have to take advantage of an empty house if you can get it — that’s why I love living in my own place. Stores like EdenFantasys are you one-stop-shop for all your Valentine’s Day needs, after you take care of the flowers, chocolate and dinner, of course. ;)

I don’t really do Valentines day. Without a boyfriend, it’s really pointless. I have my mom and pets that keep me happy! I usually spend that day watching movies and eating chocolate :)

So Valentine’s Day is just about the only time of the year that I embrace so much frilly pink frou frou-ness. However, my husband and I have never really made plans to celebrate V-Day. There have probably been years that it passed without my noticing. I like just letting a day like Valentine’s Day pop up whenever for us :)
