Taste of Tradition

Taste of Tradition

The hand-written letter is a thing of the past. Many people don’t even send Christmas cards anymore. I do try, but I think I may have forgotten last year. I never send a person birthday card. I’m much more likely to hop on someone’s Facebook wall, but not everyone has Facebook, and a hand-written card to say “thank you” or wish someone a happy day on the anniversary of their birth is the kind of thoughtful act I’d like to receive myself. So maybe I should reciprocate?

Of course, I may have missed your birthday this year, so what’s a young woman who’s trying to do right by her loved ones in a classy way to do? I’ll get back on track this holiday season with some Christmas Cards. I’ve been using a bunch of online printing services like TinyPrints for my cards lately. No one I know uses those websites, and this ensures my cards will stand out from others. Even though I don’t put photos on my cards, I can still find plenty of options that I like.

They add new cards ever year, too, which helps with that. As I was browsing for this year’s cards, I ordered them by what was new. I recognized a few cards from last year, but there’s plenty of new options, too. I opt for those that are more “season’s greetings” type messages, and I like the less traditional colors. Red is cool, but black and blue make for some interesting holidays cards, too.

Interested in the type of cards I like? The Taste of Tradition (above, right) is a great card with a traditional feel that still makes room for photos. I love the example images they included. I’d use this if I had couple or family photos.

Chalkboard Hooray (left) is a fantastic example of the type of card that’s just so different that I can’t help but love it. The slate (or cream or white) and blue hues are incredibly unique. This design is printed on the back, too, so you have both sides to express your holiday wishes to loved ones.

Finally, an excellent example of contemporary cards with an unique design and unusual colors is Focused Festivities. It’s fun, feminine and young, which is probably while these are the very cards I’ll be sending out this Christmas. Sorry for spoiling the surprise. I imagine myself buying a few in every color.

This card has rounded esdges, and TinyPrints has some specialty unique cards that come in a rounded-corner square shape. They won’t fit in your envelopes and use regular postage normally, but TinyPrints offers special square cards that use regular postage. Plus, you can choose to use angled corners, instead, to make things easier.

Now, I know that talking about all these great designs has you thinking about what you’re going to do this Christmas, New Year’s, Hanukkah. Maybe you don’t normally think about that until a few weeks before. Maybe your cards are always late, and every time you enter the store, you can’t believe how expensive holiday cards are (I know!). I’m not just teasing you here, I’m following this all up with a fantastic giveaway for one of my readers.

Per usual, I’ll be using PromoSimple, so follow the instructions in the widget, and you’ll be on your way to win a $50 promo code from TinyPrints. You might be able to get all your cards or pay off a bunch of the total bill. This won’t cover shipping or combine with other coupons, so keep that in mind while you’re shopping.

Giveaway ends October 29. Giveaway is open to all entrants, but you must cover shipping of your order. Thanks to TinyPrints for sponsoring this post.
