Acevog and ANGVN Little Black Dresses Giveaway (2 Winners!)

Date Tue, September 22 2015

This is going to be a different type of giveaway. I was recently sent two dresses to wear, but because of sizing, they ran two small. My sponsor sent me the dresses in the next size up, and they’re still not my cup of tea. So I’ve decided to give away all four dresses two my readers. One reader will win the ACEVOG Women 1950s Vintage Retro Capshoulder Party Swing Dress in size XL, color black and the

The other winner will win the ACEVOG Women 1950s Vintage Retro Capshoulder Party Swing Dress in size XXL and the ANGVNS White lace dress in size XL

Like I said in my previous post, however, Asian sizes do run smaller. So these XLs fit more like a large, especially the one that zips up. Because while the fabric has a little bit of stretch, it’s not like the elasticized back of the Rockabilly 50s vintage dress. In fact, I tried the next size up for both of these, but found they didn’t fit me comfortably.

This is especially true in the bust. If you have a bust of 38/40 D or larger, I think these dresses aren’t going to be for you (I’ll include meaasurements in each description, so you know if they’ll work for you). But they’re going to look great on someone who might be a little smaller bust! Because both of them flare, it also helps to hide problem areas in the tummy. Adding a petticoat would increase this look.

The first dress is a vintage black number with a sweetheart neckline and cap sleeves. The waist is lower than the halter dress and is designed to be slimming. The bust does this cute crossover thing with pleats. It’s easier to see in the photos of the colored dresses on Amazon, but you can definitely see it in person on the black, which is what I have to give away.

The neckline actually is a bit high on me because I’m petite, and the snugness in the bust meant it gapped at the top of my shoulders, rather than sitting flatly. I do often prefer to show a bit more cleavage, but the look is classy and modest enough and definitely pinup inspired! The arm holes also run rather small. In fact, they look more like straps than cap-sleeves on me because my frame is a little wide for them, odd!

The material is more of a stiff cotton but not necessarily uncomfortable. It’s thick enough to wear without an extra layer underneath, but you could if you preferred.

The size chart describes size XL as 39.8″in the bust, a waist – 32″ and a length of 41.4″. According my my measurements, the bust is 38″ unstretched. Arm holes are around 7.5″. Waist is just under 32.” There’s a couple inches of stretch width-wise.

The other dress is a casual summer dress in black lace. It comes with a inner layer to make it not completely translucent, but even that’s still a little thin. You’ll probably want to make sure no one can see through it in bright light and wear darker underwear with it, if not a slip. Unlike the swing dress, there’s no stretch to this at all. The lace extends a couple inches from the hem of the lining at the bottom, which I think is quite cute!

I personally find the circular lace pattern to be visually interesting, too. The measurements of this one according to the size chart are 36.7″ Waist, 32″ Length, 34.7″. But I measured the bust at 36 inches with no give whatsoever. That’s definitely more comparable to a US size large or even medium, if you wanted it to run large.

I’m giving both of these dresses away to a winner. Enter using the form below.

Now, I am also going to be giving away these same dresses in a size larger. And the lace dress will be white. The measurements for  the swing dress in XXL put the bust at 40 inches, unstretched. Again, there’s a couple inches give, but it would probably work best for someone who isn’t petite. The suggested waist of 34″ is pretty accurate, however.

The white lace dress is slightly smaller in the bust — 38 inches. The waist is about the same, however, at 35 inches. This dress has a different brand — ANGVNS — and is also available in blue on Amazon. It costs less than $17, which isn’t a terrible price if you’re worried about fit.

But you can win both of these dresses by entering below.

Good luck!

Both giveaways are open to US citizens and will end October 21 2015. I will allow the same person to win both.
