Newtons Fruit Thins

Newtons Fruit Thins

You may have noticed the commercials for the new Newton Fruit Thins. It’s a different type of cookie they say. Indeed, regular Newtons are a different sort of cookie to begin with so it seems reasonable to wonder they might come out with next.

Fruit Thins are, as the name suggests, a thin cookie containing real fruit. I received a box of the Blueberry Brown Sugar flavor; although, they are also available in Cranberry Citrus Oat. I think I may have gotten the flavour I’d like better. The Fruit Thins are crispy and cracker like in texture. They’re round with scalloped edges and maintain a uniform thickness throughout the cookie. They’re definitely thin! It would take four or so to equal the thickness of an Oreo, for example.

The cookie contains swirls of the fruit–as well as seeds. I found the blueberry to taste quite good; however the cookie tasted more generic and cookie like. I couldn’t really detect the brown sugar. One thing I did notice was that the fruit thins seemed kind of grainy. They’re the type of cookie that you want to have a drink of milk with. In addition to this, the seeds sometimes became stuck in my teeth, which was a little annoying.

If anything, Newtons Fruit Thins made me want to get a better blueberry cookie.

Thanks to One2One Network for this opportunity!
