Posy Lane Shower Wrap

Date Tue, January 8 2013

I wasn’t familiar with Posy Lane before I got a chance to review one of their bath towel wraps, but I’m definitely paying attention now. I’d seen similar products in commercials, though, and they looked handy. The towel wrap is a terrycloth wrap that fastens with velcro. It’s a simple concept. Elastic means these wraps will fit a variety of people and stay up, unlike regular towels. They have a tendency to fall right off of me. There’s a few times at which I would recommend wearing one:

  • Doing your hair
  • Putting on Makeup
  • Dying hair
  • After Sex
  • Moving between the bathroom and your dorm

I don’t necessarily feel comfortable wearing this at all times, but others might enjoying wearing it to lounge around the house, too. The thick velcro means it stays in place, and you don’t have to worry about it.

This wrap is actually super thick, too. The outside is a plush velour that feels good to touch. However, I don’t find it quite asĀ absorbentĀ as my regular towels, and the elastic makes it a bit awkward to dry off with. It would be more convenient to use an actual towel if you just want to dry off.

I ordered a purple shower wrap, and it’s a very deep purple. It’s girly, and I like it. Posy Lane has men’s, women’s and children’s sizes. A man’s wrap goes around the waist, while the version I got you wear above your breasts. Posy Lane carries petite, plus and regular sizes, so you don’t necessarily have to choose one that’s one-size-fits-all.

Mine was regular, and is advertised to fit up to a 39″ bust, but it has much more stretch than that. According to my measurements, you’re going to get between 22 and 50 inches, so this is a versatile wrap. This wrap falls to mid-thigh on me, but I’m only 5’2″. I feel like this wouldn’t be the product for you if you’re closer to 6’0. Of course, if you’re wearing it in the comfort of your own home, this might not matter.

One of the unique features of Posy Lane, which also sells nap mats among other items, is the ability to have them monogrammed. I’m boring and don’t really like my name on my stuff, so I opted for none, but you can choose your font face and color, which is cool. You can make it match whichever color you choose.

I just tossed this in with the wash and it help up well. My dryer lint was super purple, but none of my clothes were dyed purple. I have had an unfortunate hair dye incident, but that’s my fault and won’t affect the function of this piece. Because I don’t need a wearable towel every day, I won’t be washing it too much. However, it’s a great item to have every once in a while.
