Lashem Extensions in a Bottle Mascara

I’m excited to write another review for a Lashem product that I like quite a bit! This time around, it’s a fiber mascara. It’s the first I’ve tried, and I actually didn’t even know that Lashem offered this product. I’m sure many of you have seen the reviews or even tried Younique’s mascara, which is a similar concept.

Like L’oreal’s Beauty Tubes, this is a dual-sided product. The first is a basic black mascara that you’ll use both as a base and a top coat. The other side contains the fibers, which are white and in a white base.

You first put on black, then the white, then the black again. Now, I’m not a huge fan of products that require too many layers, especially when one of those was white. But I’m happy to report that it was easy to cover any white with this mascara.

Because I had never used a fiber mascara, I was curious how many would they be. Would it be super obvious. Would they flake onto my cheeks, so on and so forth.

I didn’t notice any flaking onto my cheeks, and before I put on that top coat, the fibers really weren’t all that noticeable either. I think this is because they’re much smaller than I was anticipating. The wet mascara was super smudgy beneath my eyes. I’m not sure what I was doing that so much product wound up there, but I had to carefully remove the excess so I wouldn’t look like a raccoon.

But I really liked the effect once I did apply the third coat of mascara. It was pretty bold, and it wasn’t just the black color. My eyes popped even without any other eye makeup. My lashes looked much fuller, which is great if you have thinning lashes. The base of my lashes looked less “empty,” too. This might negate the need for eyeliner but it would blend in well with black liner, too.

I took the time to touch my lashes to feel them. There were so soft, you guys. It must be the fibers adding softness!

Of course, mascara has to do more than just look good. It needs to perform well, holding up over time. It can’t start to smudge after 30 minutes if I’m going to continue to wear it. I’m happy to report that this mascara did pretty well. It wasn’t perfect but I’d wear it on a daily basis without worrying about smudging too much. I might try it with my waterproof topcoat.

I did need to remove the mascara with makeup remover because it wasn’t enough just to wash my face, so this might be somewhat water resistant. This isn’t an advertised point, though, so don’t count on it.

One thing I did notice about an hour after I put on this mascara was that my eyes felt a little bothered, as though some of the fibers might have made it in there. In fact, I’m sure some did. It’s kinda impossible not to. I think this could be an issue if you wear contacts. Definitely put it on after your contact. However, the product page says that you can wear Fiber Extension Mascara with contacts.

I haven’t had a chance to use this product many times, but the formula is supposed to help the health of your eyelashes over time, too. Score!

Lashem sells at a comparable price point to the competition, but you only need the single tube. I prefer this design. It’s just more convenient!
