NeoCell Keratin Hair Volumizer

Date Mon, April 7 2014

Neocell keratinI am lucky because I have naturally healthy hair. It’s strong. It shines. I haven’t had a split end in well over 10 years. And I don’t really do anything in particular to keep it healthy. Most days, I don’t even use conditioner. But that doesn’t mean that it can’t be better.

If there’s one thing that I don’t love about my hair, it’s that it is thin and doesn’t have a lot of volume — at least, not how I like it. If I fall asleep with it wet, it will certainly puff up as can be witnessed by the first photo in this post. And I’ve used a couple products to give my hair volume. I don’t like spending a lot of time styling my hair, however.

So I was interested when Neocell sent me their Keratin Hair Volumizer to review. This supplement comes in capsule form and you’re supposed to take 2 pills twice daily. That’s a lot, right? I think the instructions mean to take one pill twice daily, and it’s a little confusing the way it’s written. I doubled up my dosage because I am not good at remembering.

Each pill contains:

  • Cynatine HNS Solubilized Keratin:
  • Hydrolyzed Super Collagen
  • Amla Extract
  • Vitamin C

Apparently, I am also not so good at taking pills. These plastic capsule was quite large and slippery. Many of them slipped out of my hands. Once they were down my throat, there was no problem. I experienced no side effects. Though the capsules themselves were a little heavy on the plastic taste.

However , I also didn’t experience overwhelming results.  Perhaps this is because my hair is so fine to begin with. I’m not sure. I thought I saw a little lift as the roots but it’s nothing like you’ll see.

There are some really positive views of the NeoCell Keratin Hair Volumizer on the Web. Some women saw their hair thickness drastically increase so they had new bangs or had to more loosely tie up their hair in bands. I don’t typically put up my hair, but I really noticed not major difference in the thickness of my hair in a ponytail. Others reported that their hair was shinier. Like I said, mine is pretty freaking shiny as a whole.

Now, I’m not saying that this product won’t work for you, but I am saying that I experienced less drastic or noticeable results than others. Perhaps it takes longer to kick in for me. Maybe I forgot to take pills more than I realized (oops).  For now, my best bet might just be to keep sleeping on wet hair to achieve drastic volume. LOL

If you’re interested, you can purchase NeoCell Keratin Hair Volumizer directly from the website from Amazon, CVS or Walgreens. It costs less than $20 from Amazon, and you might see better results. Good luck!
