Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream

In the bottle, this hand cream looks pretty inconspicuous. Sure, it says that just a dab will do the trick, but do you believe everything you see? I mean, some of you will only have heard about this product from the Internet, and no one believes anything they read here, right?

Fortunately, inconspicuous is better than how my hands in this cold. Winter hasn’t been so bad, but my skin still gets dry. There’s a specific patch on my hands, near my thumbs, that dries out like crazy. One day, my skin is fine. The next?  I look like some patchy, red desert. So, yea, inconspicuous is better.

I’d take a picture of the dry skin, but the lotion worked too well. It’s gone. I forgot it one day, and the dry skin came back, but two days later after using this hand cream, it was al better. It’s pretty crazy how well it works, but we’re not complaining, right? Not only was I able to enjoy it, but I gave samples to a few friends. (Yea, I kept one for myself. What of it?)

This isn’t the perfect hand cream, though. It’s great if you’ve got some stubborn, troubled spots but the formula is rather thick and greasy. It comes out not-quite-white. It’s more like a translucent gel that turns white and creamy as you rub it in. It’s rather thick. You definitely need to spend your time rubbing this hand cream into your skin, too. If you don’t, it feels heavy. I recommend putting this on before you go to bed because of that. The greasiness is weird if you need to do things with your hands. However, the lotion does stay on through washing your hands at least once.

Another thing I noticed was how it tends to feel sticky if you use too much. Start with a little and build your way up, like you would do with foundation. The smell is cosmetic-like. It’s listed at fragrance-free, and I don’t notice it after I put it on, but it’s there.

I wish this came in a different tube, however. The base o the full-size tube is so wide that it makes it difficult to get the last of the lotion out, and you’ll definitely want to be able to access it. A narrow tube would solve this, but I will probably just cut off the end of the tube, where it’s sealed flat then scoop out the rest with my finger. Messy? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely.

Really, that’s how I would sum up this whole experience. It’s Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream is the product you want when you have terrible dry skin and nothing else cuts it.
