Oasap: Matte Claws of Hawk Bracelet and Cute Cat Ears Ring

Date Fri, August 17 2012

I recently had the opportunity to join Oasap’s fashion bloggers group, and chose two pieces of jewelry for my first review. The Claws of Hawk bracelet is a super unique piece, but I’d had my eye on the Retro Cat Ears Ring for some time. I’d seen the ring at other websites in the past. I was actually worried about the size of the ring, because it’s listed as one size.

I ordered the hawk bracelet in matte. It has a vintage look to it that’s suitable for the textured talons and claws. There’s a shiny version, but I don’t think that finish matches the design as much. It’s available in in antique silver right now; although, there’s a golden version on the website. The bracelet is two pieces of metal connected by a hinge. You push it open and onto your wrist. Once on, this bracelet looks like talons are wrapped around your wrist. It’s neat all around.

In the image above, I wore it so that the talons showed on top of my wrist. I think this makes the most sense. Everyone who’s seen this has liked it quite a bit, but I don’t wear it frequently because I need to come up with an outfit to pair it with. Additionally, it’s a little snug on my wrist. It fits, and it’s not going to fall off, but there’s no breathing room. It’s around the standard 7″ circumference, so it will fit many people. However, if you have thicker arms, this might not work for you. The hinge does give you some leeway, but it won’t look quite as good, IMO.

Sizing was also an issue with the cat ring, which doesn’t fit on my ring finger. I’d say it’s about a 6.5 or small 7 in American ring sizes. I wear a 7 or 7.5 ring. Unfortunately, it was still too big on my pinky, so I’ll wind up wearing this on a chain around my neck, instead. The ring is available in both a copper and silver finish and is shiner than the bracelet.

Two adorable cat ears sit up, vertically off the ring. It could potentially get in the way as you wear it, but if you’re more concerned about fashion, it’s a great accessory. Like I said, it works on a chain as well as a ring. The ring is just $8 on Oasap, which is really affordable.

I can’t wait to see what I get to review from the store, next. It’s definitely expanding my wardrobe and choice of accessories.

I am also a Oasap blogger.
Love the bracelet you chose! It would look great with a casual outfit for a night of clubbing or something. Too bad about the cat ring, would have loved to see a photo of it too.

What a clever design. Sorry the ring didn’t fit. That is a bummer.

Sucks that the ring didn`t fit, but at least you can still use it on a chain :)
