Old El Paso Frozen Chicken Fajitas

Old El Paso Frozen Chicken Fajitas

I was recently able to try some new frozen products by Old El Paso, and I opted for the chicken fajitas. It looked easy enough, but I knew I was branching out of my normal comfort zone. The enchiladas might have been a safer choice, but it’s nice to try something new, right?

The frozen products make it easy to create a meal. With the enchiladas, you just toss the frozen meat and vegetable mixture into a pan to warm. The bag was chock-full of chicken and vegetables, too.  The ingredients list has the following:

  • roasted onions
  • roasted red bell peppers
  • roasted green bell peppers

In fact, there were more peppers and onions than there was chicken. This may make it spicy for some, and I’m not a huge fan of onions. I’d hoped I might be able to work around this. Unfortunately, there’s no dividing it.

I decided to use these with some pita pockets I’d recently discovered. They’re supposed to make eating easier but mine actually fell apart as soon as I tried to use them! LOL You can use regular tortillas or pitas, of course. Top with cheese, sauce or sour cream if you’d like.

I found that the fajita filling actually had a bit of a sweet taste. It may have been the seasoning or the veggies, but I wasn’t a huge fan. The thing about fajitas is that I’ve never had any two that taste the same, and I don’t think that these are the ones for me.

However, I’m still looking forward to trying the other new frozen products from Old El Paso. Like I said, they now have enchiladas, which I bet I’d like with a dollop or sour cream on top. The other products include:

  • Beef burritos
  • Chicken burritos
  • Chicken enchiladas
  • Chicken quesadillas
  • Steak quesadillas
  • Beef enchiladas
  • Steak fajitas

Each makes a meal for two; although you can certainly enjoy it as a single person and have some leftovers.

I was also sent a special serving platter with plenty of room for all the goodies that you might put on your chips, tacos or other Mexican-inspired meal. It worked excellently for the Halloween party I had, but it’s currently in need of washing, so I’ll

I’d be happy to download the .pdf and do the quiz if you could point me to them. I could not find them, not even with a search.
