Before PB Crave, I thought of peanut butter as something that went together in jelly. It was a sidekick. I didn’t enjoy it by the spoonful. I didn’t even particularly like it in cookies. I made bars months ago, and the recipe called for peanut butter. I had to buy some specifically for it. Half the jar is still in my cupboard. It might be there until the next end of the world.
That’s not the case with PB Crave. This flavored peanut butter is awesome, and I’ve already devoured half of one of the jars with only so much as a spoon. Ladies and gentleman, I am a peanut butter convert.
So, PB Crave sent me all of their flavors:
- Razzle Dazzle
- Cookie Nookie
- CoCo Bananas
- Choco Coco
Let me start by talking about my favorite. CoCo Bananas is banana flavored. It’s also the softest of them, which makes it great for eating right off the spoon. A couple spoonfuls has become my go-to snack, thanks to Jenn‘s suggestion. The softness also makes it more spreadable. I think it would be fantastic in crepes, but I haven’t had a chance to try it yet.
My second favorite is Razzle Dazzle. As you’d guess, it’s raspberry flavored, but there’s actually a lot more going on with this. Â It has chunks of white and dark chocolate, too. As soon as you open the jar, the raspberry smell greets your nose. The chocolates make it sweet, and none of these peanut butter products have exactly a smooth or crispy texture. It’s interesting, varied. I like it. It’s thicker, though, so I find it harder to work with.
The same is true for the other two flavors, which is part of the reason I haven’t enjoyed them quite as much. I suppose I like the chocolate peanut butter the next best, but it’s not quite as mindblowing as the other two. I like peanut butter and chocolate, but the more unique fruit flavors make this one seem a little mundane in comparison. I’m not head-over-heels for Cookie Nookie. It says it’s infused with cookie dough flavor, but I can’t really detect it. So, that means it’s regular peanut butter, which is still pretty good to some people. I am not quiiiite as impressed, but like I’ve said, two of these flavors really knock me off my feet.
I actually used some of the Choco Coco in a recipe I found on Pinterest. I started eating the ‘batter’ and had to force myself to stop, so I think this gives you a good idea of how much I liked it. I didn’t even have the vanilla! I think the chocolate flavor is definitely one of the better for mixing in with recipes; although, I might have been able to use banana for a different-yet-tasty result. I’ve been considering how I can use the different flavors in recipes, and PB Crave has a recipe section on the website that’s a work in progress. I cannot wait until it’s up. In the meantime, I’ll just keep scouring the Internet for suitable peanut butter recipes.
And you know what? I’m not writing this review to make you salivate unfairly. Sure, you could head out to the nearest Whole Foods or even purchase from PB Crave from the website. Hell, I definitely encourage you to do that. You won’t regret it! But.. you can also keep reading to win your own CoCo Bananas Variety pack, which is $20 worth of awesome PB Crave peanut butter.
