Solefully Smooth with Beauty Stop Online

I was recently given toe chance to review a couple products from Beauty Stop Online, and I chose products that would, hopefully, get me closer to my goal of having soft, touchable feet. You see, I finally broke down and got a professional pedicure a couple months ago and I loved it. I never paint my own nails, so that was awesome, but I also loved that my feet were finally so much smoother and softer.

I think it’s because I walk everywhere, but I usually have pretty rough soles with a lot of callouses. I’ve used lotions, scrubs, pumice stones and files to pretty much no avail. During my pedicure, they used a serious callus shaver, and that made a big difference, however. Still, it didn’t seem like rocket science. I felt pretty sure that I could emulate the process all by myself, so I chose the B Beaute Sole Saver Disposable Callus Shaver to try my hand at removing some of that hard dead skin.

Of course, it’s easiest to give it a shot when you’re skin’s had a chance to soak. I don’t have a tub, which makes this harder, but I opted to use it after a long shower when my feet had spent plenty of time in the water. The shaver is something like a simple razor, but the blade is angled so that it scrapes against the skin to shave it off. It’s a pretty thin blade, so you’re not going to cut off too much skin even if you press it more firmly to your skin. However, you should still be careful as I can imagine you being able to cut yourself with it.

Because it’s disposable, this won’t last you forever. A blade sharpener might extend its life, though. I’ve used this callus shaver successfully twice. There’s really no user error; although, you might err on the side of not pressing firm enough if you’re overly cautious. I did the first time. However, a little pressure took off the calluses from the balls of my feet and around the soles. You can carefully remove dead skin from your toes, too. The shave doesn’t take it off in large strips; rather, the design turns them into tiny strips. It’s gross but that’s beauty for you, eh?

Just using the shaver really isn’t enough, though. In my experience, you have to smooth out your skin with a pumice stone or something similar. B Beaute has a file that should do the trick. Otherwise, you’re left with uneven skin from removing your calluses. I use the cheapo foot file that I bought from the dollar store for that.

After leaving the shower, I dry and put on lotion. I’ve swapped my Cake body butter for Age Defying Herbal Body Moisturizer from Hempz. Now, I’m not normally the type of person who goes out of her way for organic products or those made from hemp, so this wouldn’t have been my first choice. However, I do enjoy the lotion. It’s got a light cosmetic scent, and the thickness works well for the mess-free pump bottle. It massages into my skin without feeling like it’s staying too much on the surface or just rubbing around on top like some cheaper lotions.

My skins feel immediately more moist, and the particular variant I was able to try firms and hydrates. I can imagine this working well on your legs, thighs, arms or neck, too. The Hempz line includes several scents:

  • citrus blossom
  • jasmine peach and wild rose
  • sandalwood and apple
  • roemary and mint

Aside from the moisturizer, you can purchase body wash and lip balm. In fact, if you’re a big fan, you can purchase an entire gallon worth of lotion. It’s a bit much for me — I have lotion until the end of time — but it’s nice if you have a dispenser you like to refill or several people are using the same container. Either way, the options are there.

Although I’m likely to still get a professional pedicure here and there due to my lack of skills, both of these products help me to like my feet a little bit more
