Soothing Care Products

Monistat isn’t usually a name that people like to talk about. It brings to mind “feminine issues” and people try to hide Monistat products from other customers. In fact, these types of things might be the sole reason self checkouts were invented. I kid. But it’s true that people don’t really want to talk about it and I think that it’s been enough.

For a few years now, Monistat has had a line of products called Soothing Care which offer, well, soothing care to feminine areas. This line offers relief from issues like odor, chafing and itching. A while back, someone in a community someplace suggested the Chafing Relief Powder Gel to any woman with thighs to deal with the uncomfortable yet oh so common malady of chafing. It took me a while to get around to purchasing this product and, I wound up purchasing the wrong one in the process, but eventually I did and I love it.

Initially, I purchased the Itch Relief Cream without realizing it. I was bummed that it wasn’t what I intended to buy but decided to use it anyway. I figured, at the very least, it would do a decent job at preventing razor burn and bumps because I had previously used topical Hydrocortisone creams like Benadryl. I was right but, in the long run, I could just as easily buy Benadryl for slightly less. Even store brand Hydrocortisone does about the same job for a lot less. I think this product is mostly pricey because of the name attached to it and, unless you really crave the Aloe Vera, I’m not sure why women would need a special itch relief cream.

When I finally got around to buying the Chafing Relief Powder Gel, I was a bit put off by the price. It’s nearing the $10 mark and, for a tiny tube, that seems a bit steep. However, I’ve yet to reed a negative review for this product and it almost seems to be a miracle cure for chafing which is definitely some that, as a woman with curves, I’ve had trouble with.

The powder gel is slightly cloudly in colour, has no scent and really baffles my mind. It has the texture of a gel but goes on like a powder. It feels like an extremely silky powder and, as soon as I apply it, I can feel a visible barrier. It’s great for after shaving because my bikini line often falls victim to razor bumps. It does double duty when my thighs rub together and this would be a great product to use when wearing skirts, short shorts, running or doing anything else where thighs may rub.

The tube has lasted me at least 6 months. I’m not sure when I bought it but it is nearing its end. For 6 months worth of relief from chafing, the price tag really seems a lot more reasonable. A little seems to go a long way and I could probably have extended the life of my tube has I used a little less (I have a tendency to use too much).

The Soothing Care Chafing Relief powder gel made be sold to women, but I see no reason why everyone can’t use it. If you experience any chafing anywhere, try this out. Collars, waistbands, underarms and hat lines are all areas where chafing occurs and prime targets for this medicated gel. If you have to wear an uncomfortable uniform to work, this product might relieve your discomfort.

Whether you need periodic relief from chafing or an everyday rememedy, Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder Gel is a great product!
