Tgi Fridays Blenders Orange Dream

Date Mon, March 8 2010

I used to think that I didn’t like drinking but the fact is, I do like alcohol but only in certain drinks. Specifically speaking, I like things creamy and slushie and sweetly flavoured and Tgi Fridays Blenders Orange Dream drink definitely hits the spot. It is definitely one of the tastier alcoholic beverages I have ever had and it’s easy to make, too. All you have to do is add 1cup of ice to 3oz of drink and blend. If you’re adventurous, you could even skip the ice; although, it gives it a nice texture.

The result is an alcoholic drink which tastes surprisingly like dreamsicle products despite a 12.5% alcohol content per volume. There is no overpowering alcohol taste (although it does contain vodka) and the combination of orange and vanilla is really perfect. It’s almost decadent and feels like a treat or dessert, not just a drink and it could easily pass as a smoothie.

The entire bottle states it makes 18 drinks and with an average price of $10 – $25, you’re only paying about $1 per drink which is definitely cheaper than going out. The bottle also states that this is a non-dairy product but there is no information about calories or such, however, and this would be good to know.

After trying Tgi Fridays Blenders Orange Dream, I am excited to try the other flavours which include Mudslide and Strawberry Shortcake.

I live in Windsor Ontario Canada and was very disappointed to hear from our Liquor stores (the only place we can buy alcohol) that TGI friday’s has discontinued the orange dream. I agree it is truly decadent, I will miss it.
I have written the company to see if it is only being discontinued in Canada, as I live close enough to the USA to go over and get it if its available..

I’ve been drinking this drink for about 8 years now. My refrigerator is never without one in it. I went to the beverage store May 2011 to get another bottle, and the manager looked it up and said they are NOT discontinuing it. I live in North Carolina,U.S. If I do hear they are going to discontinue it, I’ll be buying every bottle I can get my hands on.

For the guy that responded this isn’t a popular drink and they are discontinuing it-LMAO!!!! Since you wrote last year and its still going strong-has been out a very long time. Very popular at bbq’s and campfires around here. I have some in my frig always!!- about 15 bucks at Walmart.

  9. Cole July 29 2011 @ 11:42 pm

I wonder if they changed their mind because it did become difficult to find–at least in some areas.

I have been researching in BC canada to find this drink and BCLB does not have a retail list price for it anymore which would lead me to beleive us canadians are being cut from the loop to enjoy this drink anymore

I’ve indulged in this drink for years. I got on this site after not finding it in 3 stores that commonly carry it. I found it today at Bev Mo!! I noticed Bevmo online has it too.

First I have had this many times before and have loved it. Tonight I bought some and it tasted horrible. It must have gone bad. I’m just not sure how. Hopefully the store where I purchased it will refund my money or trade it for a different flavor. I just bought 2 of these and I’m hoping I’m not out 30$. Not sure I will try them again.

I have been an avid TGIFriday’s patron for many years, and for the first time tried the orange dream at home, which in my opinion, tasted better than they did at the restaraunt. Looking forward to trying the mudslide next. And at $11.99 for a 1.75 ltr bottle. I don’t have to drink and call a cab anyomre. I can invite some friends over and we can enjoy ourselves at home..

I live in Guelph, Ontario and have had no luck finding it at multiple liquor stores. LCBO says its discontinued in Ontario. If anyone finds it in Ontario somewhere please let me know the location so I can pick up a case. Lol. I was Wondering if there is a Canadian online liquor store you can order it from. Have it shipped to me.

I also loved this drink. No longer sold in Ontario but found it in Alberta last year. Believe it’s the only province still selling it in Canada.

I’m sure you can find a pretty comparable recipe, to be honest. I have an orange dreamsicle vodka in my fridge right now. It would need ice to be blended to the right texture, though.

Here are copycat recipes for two TGI Fridays drinks that have orange juice. I think the first might be a good alternative for the Orange Dream Blender.

For the first one, I’d add a little vanilla ice cream in addition to the sherbet to give it a more creamy taste. Happy indulging!

    ORANGE FREEZE/T.G.I. Fridays

    1 & 1/4 ounces vodka
    3 ounces orange juice
    2 scoops orange sherbet
    1/2 scoop crushed ice

Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend at high speed until smooth.

Serve in a tall glass. Garnish with whipping cream and, if desired, a cherry.

    ORANGE CREAM/T.G.I. Fridays

    6 ounces orange juice
    2 teaspoons grenadine
    1 scoop vanilla ice cream
    1/4 cup crushed ice

Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend at high speed until smooth.

Serve in a tall glass. Garnish with a pineapple slice and a maraschino cherry.

I live in the corner where NC, TN and GA meet. I can’t find this anywhere, even the places I used to be able to find it don’t carry it anymore. They need to bring it back.

  30. Lynn July 3 2014 @ 2:23 pm

Thanks for all your input. We had made this our signature sailing drink and have been looking for this everywhere!! I’ll try making the recipe so we can have it on the sailboat tomorrow for the 4th of July!! If anyone finds it please let me know!!

  31. Ann July 23 2014 @ 6:44 am

what is the shelf life of orange dream if it isn’t open

  33. Cole March 16 2016 @ 2:36 am

    I couldn’t tell you, I’m sorry

  34. Sandra September 23 2016 @ 2:45 pm

This was discontinued in Ontario a few years ago, and when I found out, I was so disappointed! It was the go to drink on hot summer days or nights, especially when camping or having a bbq. Made in the blender with ice, made it taste like the old fashioned creamsicles we used to eat as kids only with liquor ! I’ve been asking friends who frequent the US on travel or for fun to keep an eye out and so far no one has seen it. I wish they would bring it back to Ontario or Canada period…it looks like it WAS a GOOD seller, and I was told it wasn’t…..not true

  35. Lee-Ann July 29 2017 @ 4:08 pm

Hi Cole, as soon as I read your first couple of sentences, it sounded exactly like you were in my head. I live in Ontario and as mentioned Orange Dream is no longer available. I’m wondering if you’ve found anything close or another drink that you would recommend?

  36. Sallot August 9 2017 @ 2:42 am

While visiting in the USA the only place on the east coast that I’ve come across this drink in is New Hampshire and I just had consumed the rest of my last bottle. I hope to make a quick visit again I love this drink and I was so pumped to be able to purchase it again. Please bring back this scrumptious drink to Canada, it’s been a great summer beverage!

  37. Cole August 9 2017 @ 5:14 am

Good luck. Maybe try contacting the company.
