5 Must-Have Essentials for Your Handbag With U By Kotex

Date Thu, September 25 2014

I’ve been carrying some sort of a purse since perhaps middle school. I definitely wasn’t without one in high school! While my look and tastes have changed, this fact hasn’t. Perhaps surprisingly, I like to keep my bag rather small and ubiquitous. I generally carry the same purse no matter what I’m wearing and wear I go, but I won’t be found without it.

When I sat down to write this, I realized that my purse holds roughly the same things all year long; although, back-to-school season does mean that parents of little ones will benefit from adding some hand sanitizer to help the spread of colds and and influenza. For me, the colder and dryer weather means paying more attention to my skin, and you’ll see my recommendation for a great product that does this further down in this post.

There are any number of lip gloss tubes, coupons and store loyalty cards in my purse, but there are some things I just can’t do without (aside from keys, ID and money, of course!). Here are my 5 most coveted handbag essentials!

5 Must-Have Fall Essentials for Your Handbag

5 Must-Have Fall Essentials for Your Handbag

U By Kotex Sleek Tampons

Listen up ladies, we need to protect ourselves. Tampons (or pads or pantyliners) are about as important as pepper spray, don’t you think? Maybe even moreso. Not only does the U by Kotex line incorporate bold colors, which certainly make me feel a little less cranky once per month, but the slender design works well with my body.

If you have a small bag, the click applicator is compact and U by Kotex Cleanwear Pads offer another options.

Kleenex Slim Packs

So you’ve packed your hand sanitizer but you’ve still caught a cold. If you’re like me, the lower temperatures can cause some congestion. And if you’re a mom, when I imagine that’s something like booger city! Kleenex’s Slim Packs are perfectly sized for your purse or even diaper bag, so there’s always a tissue within reach.

Right now, you can stop by Walmart to purchase specially packaged U by Kotex boxes that come with Kleenex Slim Packs.

Here's what's in my little purse!

Here’s what’s in my little purse!

Hand Lotion

After washing your hands, you’ll want to breathe some life back into them. I’m using up my lotion bar, and then I’ll replace it with Neutrogena’s Norwegian Formula Hand Cream. It’s a super-intensive hand cream that will prevent — and heal — cracking skin. As the temperature continues to drop in dear ol’ Wisconsin, this one’s a must!

Lip Balm

As much as I love lip gloss, I need lip balm. I not only have a tube in my purse. There’s one on my ottoman in front of me and another on my night stand. I use it every chance I get, but there are certain times when lip balm is part of my routine. With wind picking up and temperatures dropping, chapped lips are something I do not want to deal with. Typically, I go with Chapstick, but I’ve been known to use other brands.

CLEAN & CLEAR ADVANTAGE ACNE SPOT TREATMENT

No adult wants to deal with acne, but here I am. Right now, I’ve got a cleanser that works pretty well and none of the other skin treatments I’m using seem to irritate my skin. That doesn’t mean that I don’t experiences blemishes. Of course, I want to get rid of them quickly! There are two products, I use, and Clean & Clear’s spot treatment is the smallest and best for a purse. With the active ingredient of 2% Salicylic acid, a couple treatments a day seriously reduce size and redness of pimples. Yay!

All of these products can be found at Walmart, and you can even save money on products by U By Kotex and Kleenex. Visit the Walmart site to participate in the Share and Save event. When you share on Twitter, Facebook or Pinterest, you’ll increase the amount of savings! Share more to save more.

So what do you all carry in your bag? Does it change with the seasons?

This post is sponsored by U by Kotex and Walmart, but my love for their pads and everyday low prices is all my own!

I ALWAYS have anti-bacterial hand sanitizer. Sometimes public bathrooms are pretty icky!

My five are: lipgloss, sunglasses, antibacterial gel from Bath & Body Works, gum or some sort of emergency breath freshener, & an emergency tampon!

When I lived in Japan, running water wasn’t always an option in public bathrooms. Sanitizer? I practically drank it LOL
