Holiday 2014 Gift Guide: Cogito Watches

Date Wed, November 26 2014

This is a sponsored program with Mums the Word Blogger Network and Cogito. All opinions are my own.

It sees like big ticket items  this holiday season are techy, which is great for someone like me. I love tech as much as the next person — no, more than the next person — which you’ve seen if you’ve read some of my reviews here. Wearable tech is something that’s gotten a lot of buzz, too. What is wearable tech? In short, it’s anything that’s worn on your body, including smart watches, fitness devices and glasses. I personally think it’s the first step to tech embedded within our bodies, but we’re not to that point yet!

Smart watches are dominating the market, with pretty much every major phone makers offering their own. There’s at leas a dozen third-party companies with their own watches. One such company is ConnecteDevice, whose smart watch COGITO stands out from the rest for me because it looks more like a standard watch than a tiny phone screen.

COGITO Classic is available with four band types: leather, metal, silicone and silicone+nylon. The latter is really cool and sporty looking, while leather and metal bands might be up your alley if you like traditional watches. However, it’s not just about the look of this watch. It can do a lot more than tell time!

Among its abilities is the option to track all of your incoming messages, emails, Skype messages and more. On-screen caller ID alerts you when you have or miss a call, and it connects with the calendar on your smartphone to make sure you don’t miss any appointments.

One of the things I love about COGITO Classic is that it can remotely control your phone to take a photo or enjoy music. This is great to make sure you get in on all those holiday group shots instead of being stuck behind the camera!

A few additional features that might encourage you to add this to your holiday shopping list: it’s water-resistant up to 10 meters and it comes with a traditional battery than can last up to a year. I know the idea of charging yet another device isn’t super appealing, so I love this!

COGITO watches work with iPhones, iPads and any Android devices running 4.3 or higher, so you don’t have to worry about what kind of phone your recipient has.
