Stepping Into Color

Check Oasap’s baroque style!

I’m a late-blooming fashionista. I just discovered cardigans and sweaters in 2011. I have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to layers and colors. Yep, color. If you take a look at my older photos, you’ll see that I went through — I cringe when I use this word — a phase. All I wore was black. Over the past few years, I’ve broken out of the mold. First, I added pinks, raspberry reds and teals. Most recently, it’s been white (stripes, at least), grey and even mint green. I’m still not a fan of citrus colors, but it’s coming along.

Sometimes the easiest way is for me to simply ignore how well a color looks on me and go for broke. Or baroque, haha, like this dress from Oasap. The same goes for trying new cuts and styles. And sometimes that really pays off. I have a little black dress that I love that I tried on a whim. I’m so glad that I did!

Do you think that I could rock these duotone pumps with the dress? I absolutely love them and think that the lighter blue hues might go well together. It would certainly be a bold move, but sometimes that’s what we need, right? These studded stilettos might also go if you like the red. Although, I really do love the Mary Jane influence of the first pair. If you like any of these pieces, you can get 16% off your first order from Oasap, which has affordable fashion starting at less than $4.

Obviously, I like to match colors. I don’t quite understand contrasting color. Maybe that’s lesson 2 when it comes to added color to my closet.

I would love to be a fashionista, but I spend all my money on my kids clothing! I do want nice clothing. I get discouraged because I’ve become a plus sized woman.

    I totally get this!

I don’t get contrasting or coordinating colors either. I really just need a stylist and personal shopper, but buckets of money to go with that.

I haven’t ordered from Oasap yet, but I love everything I see on their site. I think I’ve lost enough fat and built enough muscle that it’s about time to update my wardrobe though, woohoo!

First of all, I LOVE that dress! Gorgeous! But to answer your questions, I don’t think I could get away with either of those shoe choices…well, maybe the first ones, but not the second ones. :)

Yep. Between what I like and can realistically wear, BIG disconnect LOL
