The Dangers of Shopping

I’m almost out of foundation so I headed to Wal-mart to see what is on the market. I thought it was about time to try something new. I’ve been using a cream foundation by Revlon for years and while I like it, I thought I might like something else better. I didn’t count on just how many options there would be and I also didn’t realize that perhaps I like my Revlon foundation so much because it meets all of my demands.

I probably spent upwards of 20 minutes walking in between the rows of Covergirl, Maybelline et al and it was crazy. I didn’t really want a liquid foundation because none of them come with applicators and I do not like using my hands. It seems like the only foundations which come with their own applicators are cream, like I had been using (if it doesn’t come with an applicator and I buy my own, I will loose it or it will become really dirty and I stop using it). Some of the new mousse foundations look really interesting and come in rather stylish pots but have the same issue of no applicator.

I came to the realization that if I wanted to try something different, I would have to forgo requiring an applicator. So I started all over, this time considering liquid foundations. The good thing is that many of them come in pump bottles so it’s much less messy. It was easy to tell that the “in thing” is foundations which match your skin perfectly. “Match” and “blend” were words on practically every product.

So I narrowed down my search to 2 products – 1 by Maybelline and 1 by Covergirl. Just my luck, their prices were almost identical but the cashier said that the Loreal product was new so I opted for that. I now am the owner of Maybelline’s Dream Liquid Mousse in a pump bottle (and even has a cap to prevent accidental pumping) which promises to give me an “airbrush finish.”

Will my hunt pay off? Who knows? At least I don’t have to do it again any time soon!
