Much of that was thanks to the costume that I was able to review for Costume SuperCenter.com. The cost, titled “Big Bad Sexy Wolf Costume”, is just one of the sexy Halloween costumes that the store offers and I was worried that I wouldn’t like it but I really, really did. Really.

The design of the costume is simple. It’s a hooded dress that zips up the front. The material is a shiny, silver velour and the sleeves, hood and hem of the skirt are lined with fur. There are some pointy ears on the hood and a tail attached to the back of the skirt to add to the animalistic appeal. The costume comes with a pair of boot covers which are essentially leg warms that you were over your foot apparel to add to the overall feel of the costume.

Initially, the boot covers were missing from my package so I contacted the manufacturer, DreamGirl, and they sent of a pair right away. Great customer service and I’d like to thank them.

The design of this is incredibly easy to wear. In fact, I can slip it over my head without unzipping the costume at all but you can unzip and pull it up, too. The model in the picture is pretty damned ideal in terms of proportions but I’m happy to report that that is a forgiving costume. I decided to wear it with a tube top smoothing my body underneath and I felt pretty comfortable. The neckline is quite low cut, especially on my short frame, and so smaller chested women will probably want to opt for something a little easier to fall out. I was pretty happy with the cleavage but I wore it to an adult event, not a family one.

Fur on the Costume

The skirt fell to my mid-thighs when standing up but sitting was pretty difficult. It barely covered my posterior so I was glad to have another layer underneath. Biker shorts or a petticoat are a good option if you go with a costume with this cut. This is especially true if you’re taller. I found the sleeves to be slightly long on my arms but the fur cuffs just extended over my hands so it was cute, I think.

There were a few things I didn’t like about the costume. For starters, the pom pom ties are only for decoration and don’t serve a purpose. I would have loved to tighten the hood a bit as it was quite loose. It was a little difficult to wear because it was so large. The poms also could have featured fur, rather than a grey fleece.

Big Bad Sexy Wolf Costume on Me

Speaking of fur, the image on the site is a little nicer, perhaps Photoshopped, that the costume actually was. I found the fur to be a coarse mixture that wasn’t as nice to touch as I would have liked. The velour was cool and soft to the touch but left sparkly, silver fibers on my purse and other clothes I wore. It definitely sheds a bit. There were also a few loose threads and such. While the hem and fur was all secure, the work could have done more neatly.

I did enjoy the tail, as it was fur on a wire frame. I curved it around me a bit and was even able to tuck it into my bra to use the bathroom. LOL The boot covers fit nicely and are slightly adjustable. They tie at the top and bottom so you can make them a bit more snug or loose. They stayed on quite well. Like the velour of the costume, they are stretchy. However, there’s not as much leeway with the covers if you have larger calves.

The silvery sheen of the costume contrasted nicely with my light reddish brown hair color. I was feeling pretty fantastic about myself as I wore this last night and I will definitely wear it again. I just need a nicer pair of boots to do so.

This costume — and several of the plus size costumes of the same cut — are available in a variety of sizes, not just “one size fits most” and “queen.” I can definitely see myself purchasing another DreamGirl costume from Costume SuperCenter.com in the future.

I don’t think I’ll be able to properly celebrate it this year but I still love Halloween. I was checking out the Partylite site for Halloween stuff when I saw this awesome hanging, bat tealight holders. What an awesome freakin’ idea, says the Cole!

Of course, Partylite always has a bunch of Halloween products every year–some which is new and some which isn’t (I own the Black Cat tealight holders already). And other retailers have been pimping out the spooky goods for some time but nothing has really caught my eye until this. Way to go Partylite.

Anyway, last night I was organizing the bathroom cabinets because all our cosmetic stuff and cleaning stuff was super disorganized despite having more than ample room. I’ve been on a little organizing kick (I cleaned off the desk the other day, too; I actually have room for office supply). I had to forcefully remind Ryan not to buy anymore soap, body wash, mouthwash, hair gel or deodorant before looking in the cabinets because he has multiples of everything yet he still buys more. Ugh.

As today drew to and end, I closed my giveaway, counted up entries and headed to Random.Org to determine the winner. Then I had to recount because I realized I missed some. The participation was great. I had almost 40 entries from 18 or so entrants. And now, what you’ve all been waiting for!

The winner of my Halloween giveaway is Dez!

I must admit, it’s great to see a friend win but it’s not shocking. I didn’t even have to fix the drawing. I even redid the drawing a handful of times and all of those came up her numbers, too. She had about half of the entries through blogging, Tweeting and commenting here on Reviews by Cole. She definitely put in the most effort for this giveaway and was rewarded for it.

I’m glad my first giveaway went so well and cannot wait to bring you a new one!

As I wrap up my Halloween giveaway (you still have until Monday night, midnight!), I would like to say thank you. Thanks for entering, Tweeting and blogging. Also, a special thank you goes to my sponsors, Torik2009 and Petite Paperie. A very special thank you goes to Ann of Amp Designs for participating in an interview and also throwing in a FiddleFoot for my very own. Of course, I am here to give you a review of one Ferris Fiddlefoot and to encourage you to invest in your own army of Fiddlefoots.

The FiddleFoot I have to review – Ferris Fiddlefoot – is not on AMP Design’s Etsy shop. He is a basic Fiddlefoot, a fuzzball with oversize feet and contrasting hair/feet/ears and body (similar to this one). His body is a bright green fur and there is an adorable patch of blue fur on the top of his head – while the other parts are a vibrant blue fleece. The feet and ears will likely collect some lint but nothing a lint roller can’t fix. My Fiddlefoot also has a tag sewn into his bottom and comes with a laminated tag/card which is tied around his foot with ribbon.

Out of the box, I was super impressed with the quality of Ferris Fiddlefoot. some of the items on Etsy are pretty amateur and it can easily be seen in the photos. The craftsmanship on my Fiddlefoot is quality and everything is secure. There are no holes, loose threads, stains or weird smells. Each Fiddlefoot arrives in its own plastic bag to keep it safe during shipping. Were my Fiddlefoot to get messy, I’d probably clean with a damp cloth but I bet he’d survive the washing machien in a pillowcase, too. I really trust the quality of this toy.

You can easily see the stitching around the feet which is clean and secure. you can get an idea of the pattern and the forethought put into these guys. It also helps illustrate how all the pieces form these monsters. The feet are stuffed pretty full and solid feeling with a bit of squeezability. The stitching where the different furs and the ears meet is hidden, as one would expect. The ears are not filled with anything so they’re bendable and the body is filled with something bean-like so it’s round but squishable. The thin, floppy legs make standing a little hard for any Fiddlefoot but they look darned cute when sitting down. Fiddlefoots are designed with different eyes; mine has some asymmetrical white ones with black pupils/irises. They are attached securely, I can’t even find a weak edge if I wanted to pry them off and add to his comicy good looks.

At around 6″ (sitting) This Fiddlefoot is a bit smaller than I like to sleep with but comfortable enough should I want to, anyway. In fact, others in the house liked the Fiddlefoot, too. I think Ferris has become my husband’s, when Phantom isn’t trying to lick the fluffy fur. It definitely attracts his curious nature. I think this just goes to show that there is a Fiddlefoot for every creature, big or small. They’re great for the Halloween season but perfect for gifts at any time at all.

If I have any negative thoughts about the Fiddlefoots, it’s really minor and nothing about the stuffy itself. I think a smaller, folder card without lamination would be a bit cuter than the laminated one which is currently included. However, this certainly doesn’t attract from the joy I’m sure a Fiddlefoot will bring everyone, especially when that tag is likely to be removed. With that said, the tag and other pieces (potentially the eyes) make this a toy recommended for those over 3 years of age.

I fell in love with the FiddleFoots the first time I saw them. They’re adorable and well made. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again from AMPDesigns or to check out her other creations, like the Grumbelly monsters. Thank you AMPDesigns and keep up the excellent work!

I love Halloween, I really do. I’ve been in a better mood because we’ve put out our decoration and purchased some more. I hope to buy even more before the month is out. A few days ago, I realized how fast Halloween is approaching and decided my first giveaway on Reviews by Cole would be Halloween themed. How could it be more perfect?

So I went on Etsy, which I’ve been loving lately and posted a call for sponsor and I had two really awesome sellers contact me. I’m thrilled to announce torik2009 and Petite Paperie will each be providing some awesome wares for this contest.

First up, torik2009 offered a Halloween themed banner for your Etsy shop (or blog). If you swing by Tori’s place, you’ll see a sample of her work as well as links to Etsy user’s currently using it (She also offers accessories like earrings). Her banners typically run for $6 but, if you hurry, you can snag a Halloween banner at $5. All banners are fully customizable, and include a free avatar. What better way to show off your Halloween spirit? If you’re a fan of Tori’s work, follow her on Twitter!

But that’s not all!

Petite Paperie answered my call and is offering not 1 but 4 sheets of Halloween themed seals/stickers. These sheets include crows, black cats, skulls and a Halloween mix. These are great for all sorts of things from putting them on gift tags, Halloween crafts, decorating snail mail and, of course, sticking to the cat (parental discretion advised). Aside from these seals, you can find other paper products like notecards, gift tags and labels plus digital collages by Petite Paperie.

But, wait! There’s more.

Nothing says Halloween more than a fuzzy, stuffed monster, right? Which is why I’m so excited to be giving away one of AMP Design’s FiddleFoot Family members. The FiddleFoots are adorable, plush alien-type monsters great for you, me and everyone in between. Each FiddleFoot has its own design and unique personality, or so I imagine. Lots of attention was giving to the creation of these plushies and while they’re crazy enough to be called monsters, they’re not scary in the least.

As described on the product page:

The FiddleFoots are a family of furry folk that fell to earth from the galaxy of Farsiris four or five hundred years ago. They were recently discovered flocking in foliage forts in the forests of Fatu Hiva where they had formed a fellowship. They are friendly, fuzzy and faithful friends famous for their fidelity. They most enjoy french fries and farm fresh fruits!
In the FiddleFoot family tree you will find fascinating fraternities…the FiddleFoots, FiddleFlirts, FiddleFreaks, and FiddleFarts.

You can view all the FiddleFoots here and check back frequently at AMP Designs for other plushes; more Grumbelly monsters are coming soon and they are just as awesome as the Fiddlefoots! There isn’t a single item in this shop that I don’t adore. It’s nearly impossible to pick just one .

Because I’m so impressed with this shop, I’ve asked the seller to participate in an interview, right here on Reviews by Cole. You can, hopefully, look forward to seeing that in the next week or so because I know you’re dying to know “Just what kind of person makes these awesome fuzzy things?”
