Two of the Pure Romance products that I received work really well together. The first was the heated heart massager, a concept that I’ve seen a time or two and is kind of deceptive in is simplicity. This PVC-shaped heart contains some chemicals that react when you snap a small piece of metal. The liquid forms into crystals that you knead to produce a soft, workable massage tool. For whatever reason, I also overlook this type of massage tool. I forget that adding a little heat can simply be awesome. It really is, though.

If I have any complaints, it’s that the effect doesn’t last long enough. You see, the crystals begin to harden and although this process is slow (and further slows if the massager is still in use), you may not get as much time as you’d like. I noticed this took only about 10 or 15 minutes and, in my opinion, that’s far too short. To make the heart massager usable again, you need to boil it for 20 minutes or so and the prep definitely is one of those things that will probably prevent me from using it as frequently as I’d like.

Heart Massager

I paired the heart massager with some aromatherapy massage lotion in Sensual Citrus scent. Pure Romance calls the massage lotion “Serenity” in their catalogs. This lotion is quite slippery and definitely left my skin feeling moist–if a bit greasy–after use. Admittedly, I wasn’t a huge fan of the citrus scent. I like my scents to be sweeter, like Island Breeze. The scent that remains on the skin (it’s still noticable after washing my hands several times) seems to go a bit sour and reminds me of cleaning products. That’s not exactly sensual in my book.

Coochy Shave Cream

The last product that I had the opportunity to try was their version of Coochy shave cream. It’s not to be confused with the actual Coochy brand but servers a similar purpose. I like to use these types of creams for my bikini line and inner thighs, which can get pretty sensitive from shaving–especially with all the walking I do. I did some side by side comparisons with my current shaving cream (by System Jo) and would have to say that Pure Romance’s product worked pretty well. It’s a slick, thin, translucent gel that is easy enough to see through but also to see so you know where you’re shaving. The shave was pretty close (closer in the easier-to-shave areas that offer less varied landscapes) and my skin felt nice afterward. I can’t say that it left me completely rash-free because my skin is just so damned sensitive but there wasn’t any nasty discomfort that prevented me from living my life. An acceptable level of performance in my book.

I probably wouldn’t make the switch to Pure Romance‘s Coochy Shave Cream simply because the tube is so small! At 4 ounces, it’s half the size of my regular brand. At a price of $12 per tube, you’re paying $3 per ounce. That’s not value. Unless you really love the scent (mine arrived in mandarin and while I prefer that to the citrus massage lotion, I just can’t get over how awesome Island Breeze is), I can’t justify spending that much. Even then, I’d recommend against purchasing from a party and browsing Ebay for steals. Your consultant and hostess probably won’t be happy but your wallet will be.

Thanks to Pure Romance for this opportunity!

I thought I’d post a few reviews of items I’ve purchased from Etsy and my experience with those sellers. Of course, I can’t really send you off to buy the exact same thing as I already purchased them and many Etsy items are one of a kind.

First up – KatieDidItGlass has been a wonderful and understanding seller. I bought one of her amazing candle flowers, in amber and I loved it. Unfortunately, the cats love to chase eachother under the decorator table it was on and knocked it over a few too many times. It basically became flat as the candle holder is not meant to be cat-handled like that. I contacted her about a new one and agreed to send the pieces back for her to fix at a discounted price. The candle flower as arrived and is still in its box, unopened until I clear out Halloween decorations. I see no reason to subject it to abuse just yet. I cannot recommend KatieDidItGlass any higher! The glass art is beautiful (right now she has candle flowers, ornaments, earrings and more all made of gorgeous stained glass) and functional and, as a seller, I am highly impressed!

I also purchased some Vanilla Almond Amaretto – Fluffy Whipped Body Frosting from Etsy seller ScentedLuxuries. I had gotten some whipped body lotion from another company but it was kind of lame smelling. It did make me realize that I love whipped lotions so I hopped on to Etsy. I wanted something Cherry/Almond scented and settled on the Vanilla Almond Amaretto. It’s super fluffy and whipped and actually a bit thinner than I expected. The stuff I had been using was almost hard. OF course, this light formula is not greasy at all and the smell is not quite what I expected but good nonetheless. It’s a bit heavy on vanilla with undertones of Almond and Amaretto. I would probably use a bit less vanilla so the smell is a bit more balanced. ScentedLuxuries carries many more items that are scented like body mists, candles, essential oils, lip gloss and body wash, just to name a few!.

Both of these Etsy sellers have a lot of unique offerings and I would buy from them again.
