Although I just returned home from a little vacation, I can tell you that four days was not enough and we did so much, I almost need a break from my break. I can’t tell you how happy I was to return to my hotel at the end of the day. I loved Chicago Comic-Con but I love relaxing on a comfortable bed and it’s so much better when it’s already made and I didn’t have to do it!

You can bet I’d feel the same if I were going even further away. My Mom is trying to convince me to visit Graceland, the home of Elvis, with her in a few days. I’m not sure if it’s worth the drive for the short amount of time she’s spending there. I think I’d better enjoy someplace like Branson, a tourist hot-spot with tons to do. It’s great if you like country music. There’s tributes to all the greats and stars like Lee Greenwood and and Neal McCoy are playing soon. I can name a few people in my family who would love that. One of the cool things about the Hiltons down there is that you can purchase event and hotel tickers together for a great price (check out the Branson Best Value package to see what I mean).

Personally, I’d hit up some mini-golf and enjoy some cave exploring before retiring to one of the Hiltons of Branson for the night, all comfy and cozy in a room I didn’t have to clean. I had a fabulous time mini-golfing with Robyn in a city a few hours away that is pretty similae to Branson–even if I’m awful at it! I’ve also enjoyed a few cave adventures with my ex-husband in the past. Even better, the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel houses some of the events so walking is a minimum. My poor feet would have loved that this weekend.

A while back I somehow stumbled across the concept of teardrop trailers, tiny all in one trailers that can be pulled by any vehicle, even a VW bug (and, indeed, I ran across one which was painted and styled the same as a bug!). The lightweight style is interesting and the shape is very reminiscent of days gone by as these first saw popularity in the 1930s. If I were in the market for used travel trailers, I would totally get one this style.

I’ve already gone to two Disney theme parks and as much fun as it would be to stay at one of the disney world resorts and see fireworks and ride monorails and go to all the related parks, it’s just not romantic. I totally want to go to Niagara Falls, instead. Plus, I bet that’s a lot cheaper.

you could say I’m a jet setter, I guess, having made 3 round trips to Japan as well as flying home twice, now. I don’t really feel like it. It jut seems like travel has become apart of my life. I used to be nervous in airports and while I don’t love them now (they will always be an inconvenience), I never bat a lash as I enter them time and again. So, if that fits the definition than I guess I am quite the traveler. Still, I wouldn’t scoff at some nice travel insurance quotes because things can and do go wrong. Murphy’s law and all.

I never was one of those people who packed heavy anyway but even I found it impossible to only bring a carry on when I visited home. Still, I dream about having a nice set of matching luggage like Delsey luggage even if I don’t have anywhere to use it.

So I think it’s safe to confirm that I am headed home for Thanksgiving. I will only be there for a week and a half which I know will go really quick but I am looking forward to being able to visit much more frequently than I could when I was in Misawa.

Perhaps the only bad thing is that I do not have a good set of matching luggage. While it certainly won’t kill me, I would prefer to have some matching Swiss Army luggage rather than a couple mismatched bags from Wal-mart. What really takes the cake is that, last year, we bought a matching set from Target and when we got home, it had only like 2 of the 5 pieces. We didn’t feel like going back, especially because we would have just kept the extra pieces at his mom’s house. Still, it sucks.

You know the one thing I’m looking forward to? Road trips. I don’t know what’s in Texas but I think I might like to (and in a vehicle with A/C to boot). I haven’t gone on a lot of road trips and they all have very specific destinations and routes but I do know that, with the right people, they’re a TON of fun!

We’ve been loathe to do that here being in a foreign country with tiny roads that are not named like American roads and without a cell phone but most of that won’t be an issue back in the states and, hey, we could always check out something like Garmin GPS so we don’t get lost!
